ABOUT RICK HUBBARD
 

Born:              Middlebury, Vermont December 15, 1941
 

Education:      University of Vermont, B.A. Degree in 1963

Dartmouth College’s Amos Tuck School, Masters of Business Administration Degree in 1969

                        Georgetown University Law Center, Doctorate of Law Degree, 1973
 

Military:         Participated in ROTC at the University of Vermont and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army Infantry in 1964.  Attended and completed Army Paratrooper training, attended Army Ranger training, and then was assigned to duty in Germany. Completed active duty service as a 1st Lieutenant in 1966.
 

Professional:  Worked as an economic consultant from 1970-1973 in Washington D.C. in addition to attending law school.           

                        After graduation from Georgetown Law Center  returned home to Vermont in 1973 to work since as an attorney.

Vermont candidate for U.S. Senate in 2000. Walked over 450 miles and 3 sides of Vermont to focus attention on need for campaign finance and democratic process reforms. Be
lieve we need to reorder our federal budget priorities in a fiscally responsible way to:

Ø      Protect and strengthen social security

Ø      Improve our educational achievement

Ø      Provide comprehensive health care for all Americans

Ø      Protect our environment

Ø      Work cooperatively with our world neighbors. 

Periodic commentator on Vermont Public Radio and in various Vermont newspapers.

Affiliations:    Admitted to practice before the U.S. Federal District Court and the Vermont Supreme Court.

Member of the Vermont Bar Association.

Founding Member of the Vermont chapter of Common Cause in the 1970's.

Member of the National Governing Board of Common Cause for 6 years in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.

Candidate for 1964 U. S. Olympic Ski Team (in Alpine).

Age Group Silver medalist in the 1998 U.S. Masters Cross Country Skiing Championships for the 30km and 50 km distances
