|
Born:
Middlebury, Vermont December 15, 1941 Education:
University of Vermont, B.A. Degree in 1963
Georgetown University Law Center, Doctorate of Law Degree, 1973 Military:
I participated in ROTC at the University of Vermont and was
commissioned a
2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army Infantry in 1964.
I attended and completed Army Paratrooper training, attended Army
Ranger training, and then was assigned to duty in Germany and completed active duty
service as a 1st Lieutenant in 1966. Work:
I worked as an economic consultant from 1970-1973 in Washington
D.C. in addition to attending law school.
After graduation from Georgetown
Law Center I returned home to Vermont in 1973 and have worked in Vermont as an attorney ever since. Key Issues: I'm a strong believer in the need for campaign finance and democratic process reform. To highlight this issue for Vermonters, I've walked (last fall) the western side of Vermont from the Canadian border to the Massachusetts border, (this winter) across southern Vermont from Bennington to Brattleboro, and (this spring) the eastern side of Vermont from Brattleboro to the Canadian border. So far I've visited over 70 of Vermont's 251 communities and walked over 400 miles. Along the way I've been meeting with Vermonters, giving interviews with radio, television and newspaper reporters and commentators and gathered over 2000 petition signatures to raise my voice in the upcoming elections I also believe we need to reorder our federal budget priorities in a fiscally
responsible way to . Ø
Protect and strengthen social security Ø
Improve our educational achievement Ø
Provide comprehensive health care for all Americans Ø Protect our environment Ø Work cooperatively with our world neighbors. |
