Rick Hubbard, Independent Candidate for U.S. Senate has today received the “Candidates with Character” endorsement for Election 2000 in Vermont’s U.S. Senate Race.

Candidates with Character (CWC) is America's newest political action committee in the war against waste, fraud, abuse and corruption in government. It is dedicated to separating honest statesmen from soft money corrupted politicians and has released its list of candidate endorsements for this year's federal elections.

According to CWC, “it is our firm belief that to restore the government to the people, we must elect candidates with character, honor, integrity and courage who can be trusted with the people's money and welfare.

These reform minded candidates were selected through reviews of websites, news releases, public statements, direct contact, and participation in reform efforts sponsored by Common Cause, Pork Watch and other similar groups.  These candidates support key issues regarding a restoration of the People's government to its original intent of service and honor.   To see the list of candidates endorsed by CWC and to find out more about the organization go to:  < http://www.McCainReformNow.com > and click on "Mike's Picks" for the list or "Candidates with Character" for the PAC background.  The website is a separate entity not owned by CWC and it also has links for various other groups, news articles and polling information.

CWC is building alliances with other national, state and local organizations and volunteers that support candidates with character regardless of their political affiliations.  An example of the types of events CWC has and will support was the historic "Our House: A National Rally For Campaign Finance Reform" sponsored by Common Cause, and the efforts of the Interfaith Alliance.  CWC also supports the efforts of individuals such as "Granny D," "Senators McCain and Feingold" and many others.

CWC will also help make citizens more aware of the need for character, honor,
integrity, and courage in elected and career public servants, help take America away from the special interest groups and return America to the people and strive to make politicians and employees of the government accountable to the people, place them at risk for their actions, and insure they know that there will be consequences for their actions.
